Used Concrete Mixer Truck Inspection: Chassis, Drum and Hydraulics

2026-10-11 · China Reman Truck Alliance

A mixer truck has a road vehicle and a working mixer system. A useful inspection should identify the exact chassis and separately document the drum, drive, hydraulic and discharge equipment.

Review the chassis and road systems

Confirm the truck identity, axle layout, engine and transmission details, brakes, tires, steering, lights and suspension. Review the chassis and subframe for cracks, corrosion, repairs and attachment damage. Check that vehicle documents and the intended gross mass are consistent with the destination's registration and road limits.

Test the mixer equipment as a separate scope

Request the drum's rated capacity and identify the drum, rollers, supports, chute, water system, hydraulic pump and motor. Ask the inspector to record a controlled rotation test, noise or leakage observations and the condition of wear areas. If a component cannot be safely operated during inspection, record it as untested rather than assuming it works.

Ask for a clear handover record

A useful dossier includes dated photos/video, vehicle identity, chassis checklist, mixer-system checklist, repairs and replacement parts, test conditions and unresolved issues. Warranty documents should distinguish the base truck from the mixer equipment and describe claim steps and exclusions. Confirm local certification and import rules before purchase.

Ask for a repeatable drum test record

Have the seller state the test setup: engine speed, drum direction, duration, water-system operation and whether the drum was empty. Record leaks, noise, vibration and control response from a dated video, and list any unavailable test. If a capacity or mixing-performance claim matters, request a separate documented test under agreed conditions.
